November Newsletter

Hi, everyone!

We hope you are all having a great start to the autumn season wherever you are. We just wrapped-up our fourth full month in business and are excited for these upcoming, cold Oregon fall and winter months here in Sandy.

We had a fun Halloween sale at the beginning of October, and hosted our third movie night on Saturday, October 18, showing Halloweentown (picture below). It was our best turnout so far and we are looking forward to showing some seasonal classics this month and in December.

We participated in Sandy’s Trick or Treat Trail. Hundreds of kids and parents were dressed up, braving the cold weather, winds, and even hail as businesses passed out candy. Alex and I dressed up as Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm from the Flintstones (picture below).

We loaned a ‘First Book Club Edition’ copy of To Kill A Mockingbird (1960 Printing)  to The Sandy Historical Museum for their new exhibit, The Pursuit of Happiness, which opened on November 4 (picture below). The exhibit showcases a variety of historical items loaned to the museum by local businesses. If you haven’t been to the museum, we highly recommend stopping by for a tour. There are fun activities for kids, antiques, and fun facts about Sandy’s history.

We’re continuing to expand our marketing strategies, but word-of-mouth is still one of our most effective channels. If you have any friends and family in the area who enjoy reading, let them know that downtown Sandy has a new, indie bookstore with a fireplace, record player, and a cozy lounge to relax in during these upcoming chilly months. We carry gift certificates and accept special orders, so come by for your holiday gift needs.

That’s it for now. We hope you have a great month of November and find some time to relax and enjoy a nice book or two.

Sincerely,

Your friendly neighborhood booksellers,

Brian and Alex
