Hello, everyone, and happy holidays!
We hope that you had a great Thanksgiving, wherever you are. We just finished our Small Business Weekend sale here at the store and had several busy days to end a successful month of November. To help everyone complete their Christmas shopping on time, we have decided to stay open every day, from December 1 to December 23 (flyer below).
So, if you are in the Sandy area and are looking for gifts (books, boxed sets, stickers, journals, candles, bookmarks, Christmas cards, gift certificates) then stop by between 11am-6pm (Monday through Saturday) and 11am-4pm (Sunday).
The bookstore is extra cozy now that the weather has turned cold. We have comfy rocking chairs, an electric fireplace, Christmas vinyls constantly spinning, a Christmas tree and some decorations, and drip coffee for sale to keep you warm while you read a nice book in our lounge.
There is still time to enter our short story contest (flyer below). We currently have seven participants. So, if you are interested (and can also write quickly), please stop by the store to enter the contest and submit your story of 10,000 words or less by December 31. Voting will begin on January 1 and end January 31, with the winner announced early February.
We recently purchased a new sandwich board to display along downtown’s main road, which has led to a big boost in foot traffic. Word of mouth is still our greatest advertising, so if you love independent bookstores, please let your friends and family know that Sandy has a new bookstore in town. We appreciate your support!
That’s it for now and for the year of 2025! We hope that it was filled with many amazing memories and adventures, and wish that 2026 brings even greater joys, laughter, and lots of time to read books. Have a great remainder of the holiday season and a Happy New Year!
Your friendly neighborhood booksellers,
Brian and Alex
