Hi everyone! Thanks again for signing up for our newsletter.
We just finished our third full month and are looking forward to the upcoming holiday season. Cold, autumn weather is cozier weather, and cozy weather is great for reading! For those located in the Sandy area, we have a fireplace and a reading room with comfy rocking chairs and calm lighting. Bring a book or buy one in-store and come relax during store hours.
We held our second movie night on September 20, showing The Goonies, an Oregon classic (picture below). We will be showing Disney’s Halloweentown on Saturday, October 18, which was filmed in St. Helens, Oregon (flyer below). We only have fifteen seats available, so if you are interested, buy your ticket early and enjoy a nice evening with friends, family, and other local movie-lovers. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on, your favorite snacks, and movie-appropriate beverages. Popcorn is provided!
We will be hosting a short story contest to finish out 2025 (flyer below). We will be accepting submissions of short stories, 10,000 words or less, from October 1 to December 31. If you are a new writer, have experience, or are interested in writing a story for the first time, we’d love for you to participate!
Lastly, we will be hosting a Halloween sale from Wednesday, October 8 to Sunday October 12. All mystery, crime, thriller, horror, and Halloween books will be marked down. Stop by and find some spooky reads for these fall and winter months.
